About Contemporary Tiny Homes

About Contemporary Tiny Homes

Contemporary Tiny Homes is a full-service ADU contractor that designs and builds custom accessory dwelling units for homeowners across Connecticut.

For many homeowners, an ADU is not just a construction project. It is a private space for a parent, a one-level in-law suite, a rental income opportunity, a future downsizing plan, or a smarter way to use land they already own.

We understand that before you choose a layout, you need real answers. Can I build this on my property? What will it cost? What does the process include? What could affect permits, utilities, septic, placement, or timeline?

Our team answers those questions early, then manages your ADU project from feasibility and design through permitting, construction, and final walkthrough.

Our Mission: Smarter Living Through ADUs

At Contemporary Tiny Homes, our mission is simple: to provide a seamless, stress-free experience for our clients by managing every step of the construction process.

More importantly, we design and build ADUs that solve real-life needs. An ADU can keep family close while preserving privacy. It can create a safe, accessible, one-level home for an aging parent. It can provide rental income, guest space, or a flexible living option for the future.

We believe smarter living means building with purpose. That includes thoughtful design, efficient use of space, sustainable choices where possible, and a process that gives homeowners clarity from the first conversation.

Why Homeowners Choose Us as Their ADU Contractor

From the initial design phase to the final walkthrough, our team of experts ensures that your project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Full-Service ADU Contractor

We manage the major steps of your ADU project under one coordinated process, including design, permitting support, construction planning, materials, inspections, and project management.

Local Zoning & Permitting Expertise

ADU projects are property-specific. Town rules, setbacks, lot shape, parking, wetlands, septic, utilities, and access can all affect what is possible. We help identify these factors early so you do not waste time chasing a plan that may not work.

Built for Long-Term Living

Your ADU should feel like a true home, not a temporary structure. We design for comfort, privacy, storage, durability, accessibility, and daily use.

Transparent Process & Communication

Homeowners often ask what the price includes, what could add cost later, and how long the full process takes. We answer those questions in plain language so you can make informed decisions.

Custom-Built

We take pride in delivering high-quality ADUs and tiny homes designed for long-term living. Unlike prefab or modular options, every home we build is unique, crafted to your specifications, and built to suit your property’s specific requirements. And because we’re a full-service construction company, we handle everything—permits, materials, inspections, and more—so you don’t have to. The result is a home that feels like your own from day one, without any of the headaches that usually come with construction.

Our ADU Design & Build Process

Contemporary Tiny Homes offers custom ADU solutions through a guided process built to reduce confusion and help homeowners make confident decisions.

This ADU design and build process illustration explains the step-by-step path Connecticut homeowners follow when planning an accessory dwelling unit. The timeline highlights consultation, feasibility review, design and planning, permitting, construction, and final walkthrough. It helps homeowners understand how Contemporary Tiny Homes guides ADU projects from the first conversation through property review, town requirements, site planning, approvals, build execution, and completion.

Our job is to manage the details homeowners should not have to figure out alone, from planning and permits to construction and final walkthrough, so they can focus on the family, income, or future they are building this space for.

Our Combined Experience

Together, our team brings 30+ years of hands-on experience across ADU planning, residential construction, design coordination, permitting support, project management, operations, and customer engagement.

We support homeowners through every stage of the ADU process, from early feasibility and zoning questions to design, permitting, construction, and final walkthrough. Our growing portfolio includes custom ADU and tiny home projects built for real family needs, long-term living, and smarter use of Connecticut properties.

What Makes a Great ADU Contractor?

A great ADU contractor does more than build a small home.

ADUs require a strong understanding of zoning, permitting, utility planning, privacy, access, efficient layouts, storage, durability, and long-term livability. Many general contractors can build small structures, but specialized ADU contractors understand how to design a compact home that works every day.

The right ADU contractor should help you answer the questions that matter before you commit: what is allowed, where the unit can go, how utilities may connect, what could affect cost, and how the space will serve your family or rental goals over time.

Where We Build

Contemporary Tiny Homes builds custom ADUs and tiny homes throughout Connecticut.

We are also currently getting licensed to build in Westchester, NY. Because every property is different, the best first step is to speak with our team about your town, lot, and goals.

Our Approach to Quality & Craftsmanship

An ADU should be built to last. Our approach starts with thoughtful planning and continues through materials, build standards, energy efficiency, and final details.

We consider how the space will feel every day: natural light, privacy, storage, layout flow, entrance design, accessibility, and long-term use. Whether the ADU is for a parent, tenant, guest, adult child, or future version of you, it should feel solid, comfortable, and complete.

Start Your ADU Project With Confidence

If you are wondering what is possible on your property, you are not alone. Most homeowners start with questions about zoning, placement, cost, utilities, timeline, and whether an ADU is the right solution.

That is exactly why our process starts with clarity. Contemporary Tiny Homes helps you understand the path before major decisions are made, so you can move forward with less stress and more confidence.
